Schaeffler Machine Tool Solutions at AMB 2026

Schaeffler Machine Tool Solutions are being showcased at AMB 2026 in Stuttgart under the theme “Innovation across every axis.” Schaeffler is showcasing its latest bearing and drive solutions for machine tools, designed to improve precision, productivity, reliability and energy efficiency across tool, workpiece and feed axes Schaeffler’s portfolio covers applications ranging from machine tool spindles to peripheral equipment. The company is focusing on solutions that can operate reliably under continuous mechanical, thermal and other demanding conditions.

“The world of machine tools is undergoing transformation. More than ever, customers are now looking for solutions that not only work precisely and reliably under continuous load, but also increase the efficiency, productivity, and service life of the entire machine,” said Ralf Moseberg, Global Sector Lead Industrial Automation at Schaeffler.

For main spindles, Schaeffler is highlighting its VCM series hybrid bearings. The bearings use rings made from Vacrodur high-performance rolling bearing steel and are designed for demanding mechanical, thermal and tribological conditions. The company said the technology helps improve bearing life and operational reliability.

For driven tools, Schaeffler is presenting PTB precision spindle bearings in precision class P4. They are available for shaft diameters from 10 to 50 mm in dimension series 70 and 719. For rotary workpiece axes, the company is displaying RIB torque motors combined with YRTC rotary axis bearings. The direct-drive system enables precise positioning during machining and can eliminate the need for mechanical clamping, while also helping reduce cycle times.

Schaeffler is also showcasing its XZU double-row angular contact needle roller bearing. Originally developed for precision gearboxes, the bearing offers high tilting rigidity and low, consistent friction. It can also be used in applications such as laser swivel heads.

The YRTA series is designed for rotary axes outside the machining area, including pallet-changing systems. The bearings are built for high tilting rigidity, long service life and low maintenance. For milling tables, swivel axes and automation applications, YRTC and YRTA bearings can be supplied with integrated gearing in the YRTCG and YRTAG versions. This can reduce installation space, assembly work and drive complexity. For linear applications, Schaeffler is presenting KLLT four-row monorail guidance systems. Eight carriage designs provide flexibility for machine peripheral applications.

These Schaeffler Machine Tool Solutions are designed to support demanding machine tool applications with high precision, reliability and efficiency.

The company is also highlighting its L7 linear motors, which offer up to 50% lower power loss at the same drive force or up to 40% higher nominal force at the same power loss. Schaeffler said the motors can support higher acceleration, lower operating temperatures and improved machine productivity.
