SANY Renewable Energy has taken a significant step forward in its European expansion by securing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Contract for Difference (CfD) for the Alibunar Wind Power Project in Serbia. This project is not just an entry into a new market but a demonstration of SANY R.E.’s commitment to advancing clean energy solutions where they are most needed.

Located in the eastern region of Serbia, which boasts some of the country’s best wind resources, the Alibunar project is set to become a major contributor to Serbia’s renewable energy landscape. With a planned installed capacity of 168 MW, the wind farm is expected to generate around 480 million kWh annually once operational. The project, which is set to begin operations in 2028, will play a pivotal role in enhancing the country’s energy structure and reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.

This marks SANY RE’s first investment in Serbia and a major milestone in its global clean energy strategy. Zhou Fugui, Chairman of SANY RE, commented: “The Alibunar wind project is a crucial development for us, signaling our commitment to expanding in the European market. We are eager to collaborate with local partners and bring cutting-edge wind energy technologies to Serbia, supporting its transition to sustainable energy.”

As a leading provider of wind power solutions, SANY RE. is dedicated to delivering reliable and high-performance wind turbines. The company will leverage its technical expertise throughout the project’s lifecycle to ensure its successful execution and long-term operation. Additionally, SANY R.E.’s local operation and maintenance team will provide ongoing support to ensure optimal performance.

SANY RE  remains steadfast in its commitment to the global fight against climate change. In 2024, its wind turbines generated a total of 135.8 billion kWh, resulting in a reduction of CO₂ emissions by 72.87 million tons—equivalent to planting over 3.3 billion trees.

The company is also focused on advancing sustainable turbine designs, with plans to increase the recyclability of its turbines to 95% by 2030. Looking ahead, SANY RE will continue to drive the global energy transition by delivering high-quality wind power solutions to an increasing number of countries, supporting the shift to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
