Safran Aircraft Engines, a leading French engine manufacturer, has entered into a contract with Titan Engineering and Automation Limited (TEAL) at Aero India to produce parts for the low-pressure turbine of the LEAP engine. This collaboration marks the first between the two companies, utilizing TEAL’s advanced technological capabilities to enhance the production of LEAP engine components in India. Production of the initial parts is slated to begin in 2026.

The agreement aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative, which aims to foster the country’s aerospace industry growth. As part of this strategy, Safran Aircraft Engines is building a comprehensive industrial ecosystem in India, partnering with key local players to ramp up production of both the LEAP engine and the M88 engine, which powers the Rafale fighter jet.

Sridhar Neelakantan, CEO of TEAL, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, “This partnership highlights our expertise in manufacturing complex components and reinforces our position as a significant contributor to the aerospace supply chain.”

Dominique Dupuy, Purchasing VP at Safran Aircraft Engines, added, “We are thrilled to partner with TEAL, which represents a critical milestone in expanding our operations and establishing local supply chains in India.”

Safran Aircraft Engines is further solidifying its presence in India, where it already operates five production sites across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Goa. In 2025, a sixth facility dedicated to LEAP engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services will be inaugurated in Hyderabad.
