SAEL Industries Limited, through its subsidiary SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited, is investing approximately ₹8,200 crore to build a large-scale solar production facility within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area. The Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, formally handed over a Letter of Comfort to Sukhbir Singh, Co-Founder and Director of SAEL Industries Ltd. Construction of the plant is expected to begin this year.

Located in Greater Noida, the upcoming facility will include a 5 GW solar cell production unit and a 5 GW solar module assembly line. Once operational, SAEL’s total solar manufacturing capacity will increase to 8.5 GW. Highlighting the importance of the project, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked that Uttar Pradesh is firmly focused on renewable energy leadership and projects like SAEL’s are central to achieving the state’s clean energy targets.

Sukhbir Singh Awla, Co-Founder and Director of SAEL Industries Ltd., expressed appreciation for the state government’s support and emphasized that the new facility will significantly enhance the company’s production capabilities while strengthening the domestic solar supply chain. He noted that the project aligns with both state and national clean energy initiatives, reducing dependency on imported solar equipment.

The plant will manufacture high-efficiency TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) solar cells, which will be integrated into solar panels within the same facility. This project reflects SAEL’s strategy of backward integration to support its expanding solar IPP portfolio and strengthen India’s solar ecosystem.

SAEL’s current solar assets total over 6.7 GW, comprising both operational and under-construction projects. Its existing module assembly capacity stands at 3.5 GW, with facilities in Rajasthan and Punjab. The new project also complies with the Government of India’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) standards.

SAEL Industries Limited operates in renewable energy sectors such as agri waste-to-energy, grid-connected solar, and solar panel production. With a diversified energy portfolio, the company remains focused on supporting India’s energy transition through sustainable and scalable solutions.
