Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) announced on November 18 that it has received a letter of acceptance from South Central Railway for a ₹294.94 crore project. The contract involves doubling the railway track between Navipet and Indalvai stations in Telangana, along with electrification and signaling works for the Mudkhed-Medchal doubling project. The project is scheduled for completion within 24 months.
Last week, RVNL reported its Q2 financial results, showing a 27% decline in net profit to ₹286.9 crore compared to ₹394.3 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations saw a slight dip of 1.2% year-on-year to ₹4,855 crore, while EBITDA fell 9% to ₹271.5 crore, with margins contracting to 5.6% from 6% in Q2 FY24.
Earlier this month, RVNL, in a joint venture with SCPL, emerged as the lowest bidder for an Eastern Railway project worth ₹837.67 crore. This project includes earthwork, bridge construction, drainage systems, and ancillary works for multi-tracking the railway line between Kalipahari and Pradhankhuta, with a timeline of 36 months for completion.
