Key actions taken by RSWM to improve water management include the implementation of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, ensuring the recycling of 100% of wastewater. The company has also introduced low-liquor HTHP fiber and yarn dyeing machines, which have successfully reduced water consumption by up to 50%. Additionally, PLC-controlled auto-controllers have been put in place to optimize water usage while minimizing waste, and counter-current washing techniques are employed to enable multi-stage water reuse.
In addition to these technological advancements, RSWM has introduced innovative moisture extraction methods in its stenter machines, significantly reducing both water and energy consumption. The company has also made significant strides in enhancing groundwater recharge by establishing 24 rainwater harvesting wells and artificial lakes, further bolstering its commitment to sustainable water practices. These initiatives are a testament to RSWM’s dedication to environmental stewardship and resource efficiency.
These efforts have collectively led to an annual water savings of 233,500 KL, setting a benchmark in sustainable water management for the textile industry. Expressing his gratitude, Rajeev Gupta, Joint Managing Director of RSWM Limited, stated:
