Eicher Motors’ Royal Enfield has officially launched its operations in Bangladesh, opening a flagship showroom in Dhaka along with a new manufacturing unit. The company will offer a range of 350cc motorcycles to meet the rising demand in the region. This expansion into Bangladesh is in collaboration with IFAD Motors, with bookings for the motorcycles commencing on October 21.
“Our goal is to enhance the middleweight motorcycle segment on a global scale, and our entry into Bangladesh is a significant milestone in this endeavor,” stated Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Enfield. The company has previously extended its reach into the Americas, Europe, and the Asia Pacific, and began CKD operations in Nepal last year.
Guleria expressed confidence in Bangladesh’s growth potential within the leisure motorcycling market. “By establishing local production and assembly, we aim to enhance the customer experience, improve accessibility, and promote the motorcycling lifestyle among the Bangladesh riding community.”
The new manufacturing facility in Bangladesh is Royal Enfield’s sixth assembly unit outside of India, following locations in Nepal, Brazil, Thailand, Colombia, and Argentina. Eicher Motors highlighted that the Bangladesh automotive market is one of the largest in South Asia, and the local facility will have the capacity to assemble over 30,000 units annually to meet the increasing demand.
IFAD Motors plans to expand the dealer network across Bangladesh in the coming years to attract new customers. Royal Enfield, one of the world’s oldest motorcycle brands in continuous production, is renowned for its iconic, retro-styled bikes that blend classic design with modern engineering.
