Rolls-Royce, the renowned luxury automotive and power systems company, officially inaugurated its largest Global Capability and Innovation Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The facility was opened by Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, as confirmed by a statement from his office.
In his address, Minister Patil emphasized that the new Bengaluru centre would play a pivotal role in supporting Rolls-Royce’s global operations. He highlighted that the company’s expansion reaffirms Karnataka’s status as India’s leading hub for aerospace, defence, and advanced engineering industries.
“Bengaluru ranks among the world’s top three aerospace cities in terms of foreign investment,” Mr Patil said. “The state is home to a diverse range of companies excelling across the entire aerospace and defence value chain.”
Mr Patil went on to mention key industry leaders like Aequs and Collins Aerospace in power systems and propulsion, Wipro and Mahindra Aerospace in structural and mechanical components, and innovators like Boeing, Airbus, and Pixxel in specialized technologies. Additionally, companies such as Sarla and Tata Advanced Systems are making valuable contributions in end-manufacturing.
He also pointed out the support provided by Karnataka’s Aerospace and Defence Policy, which includes attractive incentives for investors. “With a collaborative ecosystem that includes research institutions, global companies, and home-grown start-ups, we’re able to create cutting-edge technology and solutions for the world,” the Minister remarked.
Mr Patil emphasized that the state government continues to focus on attracting investment through progressive policies, infrastructure growth, and ease of doing business, further cementing Karnataka’s position as a leader in the sector. The event was also attended by Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India, and Helen McCabe, Global CFO of Rolls-Royce, alongside other dignitaries.
