At CETEX 2024, a new event focused on consumer electronics testing and development, Rohde & Schwarz will present their latest test and measurement solutions designed to tackle emerging challenges in the sector.

Held at RAI Amsterdam from October 9-10, 2024, the expo will provide visitors the opportunity to engage with Rohde & Schwarz experts and discover cutting-edge technologies that streamline EMC compliance, speed up digital protocol debugging, and improve energy efficiency. Featured instruments include the versatile MXO 5 and MXO 5C series oscilloscopes.

Consumer electronics involve many components, each of which requires testing throughout development, certification, and datasheet compilation. Rohde & Schwarz offers comprehensive solutions for testing a range of applications—from electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) and energy efficiency (switch mode analysis) to connectivity requirements (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI, USB4) and digital circuit tests. At CETEX, attendees will experience firsthand how these instruments meet the needs of modern engineers.

Next-Generation Oscilloscopes

The MXO 5 and MXO 5C series oscilloscopes offer unparalleled versatility for engineers. Available in four- or eight-channel versions, the MXO 5 series and the rack-optimized MXO 5C series deliver industry-leading acquisition rates (4.5 million waveforms/s), precision (12-bit ADC/18-bit HD resolution), and memory depth (500 million points/channel). These capabilities enhance power and signal integrity measurements, protocol debugging, and more.

Power Conversion and Consumption Testing

At CETEX, Rohde & Schwarz will also showcase power conversion and consumption measurements, focusing on system performance and inverter design. The MXO 5 oscilloscope’s eight channels provide a clear view of signal details, while the R&S NGU201 source measure unit simulates real-world battery conditions for testing IoT devices with low sleep currents.

EMC Pre-Compliance Testing

With an emphasis on EMC pre-compliance and in-house testing, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate how their R&S RTO6 oscilloscope supports EMI debugging. The R&S EPL1000 EMI test receiver will also be featured, designed to help engineers integrate compliance testing into the design process.

Component and Connectivity Testing

For passive component testing, Rohde & Schwarz will exhibit their R&S LCX LCR meters, which offer customizable impedance measurements. Additionally, the MFIA impedance analyzer from Zurich Instruments (a subsidiary since 2021) will be displayed. For wireless testing, Rohde & Schwarz’s CMW platform provides comprehensive solutions for Bluetooth® and WLAN testing, with the R&S CMW270 tester covering Bluetooth® Low Energy and Classic, as well as WLAN SISO and MIMO signaling tests.

With a 90-year history in advancing cutting-edge technologies, Rohde & Schwarz continues to support industrial, government, and regulatory customers with leading solutions in test and measurement, technology systems, and cybersecurity. The Munich-based company generated €2.78 billion in net revenue for 2022/2023 and employs 13,800 people worldwide.
