Rockwell Automation, Inc. successfully concluded its 5th edition of its IIOTM event in Chennai. The event brought together manufacturing leaders, technologists, innovators, and policymakers to discuss strategies for advancing India’s sustainable manufacturing and net zero goals.

With over 1,200 attendees, this year’s IIOTM featured more than 30 key discussions on topics such as sustainable, secure, and smart manufacturing, India’s potential leadership in High-Tech manufacturing, the circular economy, and the role of automation and digitalization in improving industrial productivity and efficiency.

Among the guest speakers was S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, who highlighted India’s economic growth, emphasizing its aim to become the world’s third-largest economy. Krishnan stressed the importance of manufacturing in this growth, noting India’s goal to increase the sector’s GDP contribution from 17% to 25%.

He stated that India aims to be a competitive manufacturing hub, serving global and domestic markets, creating quality products, and generating jobs for its people. Dilip Sawhney, managing director of Rockwell Automation India, echoed this sentiment, noting India’s focus on sustainable and smart manufacturing in its pursuit of a trillion-dollar manufacturing economy and net-zero emissions.

Sawhney praised IIOTM for bringing together industry stakeholders to shape the future of technology-enabled manufacturing, highlighting the event’s vibrant environment and quality discussions. “This marks merely the inception of a thrilling voyage towards pioneering innovation and industrial advancement,” remarked Dilip with assurance. “India stands on the brink of even greater achievements in the forthcoming years as it embarks upon the path leading to a smart, secure, and sustainable manufacturing future.”
