Rockwell Automation, Inc, a global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation, has collaborated with Axtel Industries Limited, a key player in process engineering for the food and beverage sector, to upgrade its chocolate moulding and spice processing operations. The integration of Rockwell’s advanced motion control, safety systems, and diagnostics has helped Axtel enhance precision, efficiency, and consistency while improving plant safety and sustainability.
To modernize its chocolate moulding line, Axtel adopted Rockwell Automation’s Kinetix® 5700 servo drives and safety-enabled Integrated Architecture® solutions. This helped streamline the complex process of handling multiple stock-keeping units (SKUs) on a single moulding line, significantly increasing operational flexibility and accuracy. For its spice mixing operations, Axtel implemented Rockwell’s ControlLogix® processor and PlantPAx® distributed control system to create an automated, high-precision ingredient management setup.
Ajay Desai, Executive Director of Axtel Industries, said, “Our partnership with Rockwell spans three decades and continues to evolve as we invest in advanced automation technologies. These innovations allow us to deliver sustainable and reliable solutions to our clients in the food industry.” DilipSawhney, Managing Director of Rockwell Automation India, added, “We are proud of our long-standing relationship with Axtel and are committed to helping them build best-in-class equipment for a global market.”
By deploying Rockwell’s GuardLink® 2.0 and achieving PLd safety standards in their manufacturing setups, Axtel has significantly boosted the safety and operational efficiency of its machines. The shift from traditional to automated systems in spice processing has enabled better compliance, traceability, and quality control. Axtel’s upgraded systems now support the handling of a wide range of ingredients, from micro to bulk, while maintaining high data integrity—delivering consistent and high-quality outputs.
