Rockwell Automation has expanded its SecureOT industrial cybersecurity portfolio with two managed services designed to help manufacturers protect operational technology (OT) environments and maintain plant uptime. The new offerings include Firewall Managed Services with Fortinet and Infrastructure Managed Services.
The services address manufacturers’ growing need to secure connected industrial systems while managing limited access to specialised OT cybersecurity personnel. As information technology and operational technology systems become more interconnected, cybersecurity has emerged as a major business risk for manufacturers.
Firewall Managed Services now supports Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, giving customers an additional hardware option within Rockwell Automation’s managed cybersecurity offering. FortiGate products provide security capabilities for industrial networks, including threat detection supported by FortiGuard Labs OT threat data and options for deployment across multiple sites.
Under the service, Rockwell manages firewall monitoring, alarms, rule changes, patching and firmware updates on behalf of customers. The arrangement provides manufacturers with a single service provider for ongoing firewall maintenance and management.
Infrastructure Managed Services provides round-the-clock global support and secure monitoring for industrial network and computing environments. The service combines hardware lifecycle management with operational support to help manufacturers maintain system availability, manage cyber risks and control operating costs.
The offering covers industrial infrastructure such as Industrial Data Centers, VersaVirtual Appliance systems, firewalls and network switches. It has also been expanded to support infrastructure that customers already own, including servers, virtualisation platforms, switches and backup systems from multiple vendors.
The expanded service is intended for manufacturers that have invested in their own infrastructure but want specialist support to operate and maintain those systems. Rockwell said the approach allows customers to retain existing equipment while using managed services to support reliability and security.
“Manufacturers need cybersecurity solutions that fit their operations, not the other way around,” said Aaron White, global capability manager, infrastructure managed services, Rockwell Automation. He said the new services provide flexibility for companies standardising on Fortinet firewalls or seeking professional support for infrastructure already deployed at their facilities. Rockwell’s SecureOT portfolio helps manufacturers assess, protect and continuously improve their operational technology security. The two new services are available now.
Rockwell Automation, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker ROK, provides industrial automation and digital transformation technologies. Its expanded managed services are designed to help manufacturers address security requirements without adding unnecessary complexity to their operations. The company said the services can support industrial organisations seeking to improve resilience, maintain uptime and manage cybersecurity across existing and new infrastructure.
