RMC Switchgears Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan to develop a pioneering 1,000 MW Ultra Mega Solar Park, complete with integrated battery storage, in Jaipur. This project represents RMC’s significant entry into renewable energy and aligns with the company’s strategic goals for sustainable growth.
The project is expected to take 2-3 years for completion and will contribute toward RMC’s objective of developing approximately 1 GW in greenfield projects through EPC and IPP models. This initiative also aligns with RMC’s Vision 2030 goal of transforming into a ₹5,000 crore enterprise, advancing both its growth and India’s renewable energy goals.
The solar park will create approximately 2,000 direct jobs and support local socio-economic development, while the Rajasthan government has pledged full support for timely approvals to ensure power generation begins by 2026. RMC’s CEO, Ankit Agrawal, remarked, “This Ultra Mega Solar Park reflects our commitment to India’s green energy transition. Beyond environmental benefits, it will spur job creation and economic growth. We appreciate the Rajasthan Government’s support and are eager to contribute to a sustainable future.”
