RMC Switchgears Ltd. Secures 41 MW Solar Project Contract in Maharashtra

RMC Switchgears Limited has been awarded a contract by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to develop a 41 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic power project. The project will be executed under the RESCO model as part of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0, aimed at solarizing agricultural feeders under the PM-KUSUM Scheme.

This contract, obtained through a competitive bidding process and e-reverse auction, represents a key milestone for RMC Switchgears in expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector. The electricity generated from this solar project will be sold to MSEDCL at a fixed tariff approved by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date. The project will be implemented across various sites in Maharashtra, as designated by MSEDCL.

This order reinforces RMC Switchgears’ commitment to advancing renewable energy in India and contributes to the nation’s climate action goals outlined in the Paris Agreement. The company is actively pursuing additional tenders exceeding 500 MWp and is engaging with both public and private sector entities to achieve its ambitious target of securing 1 GWp in renewable energy.
