RenewSys, a leading producer of solar photovoltaic modules and key components, is set to expand its encapsulant production capacity to 30 gigawatts (GW) by adding eight new manufacturing lines at its recently launched facility in Khopoli, Maharashtra. Once completed, this will bring the total number of encapsulant lines to 19, supporting both domestic and international demand for solar solutions.
At present, the company operates seven encapsulant lines, with four additional lines expected to be commissioned in 2025. RenewSys currently has 9 GW of encapsulant and 4 GW of backsheet manufacturing capacity. In parallel, the company is increasing its solar module production to 5.5 GW by the 2026–27 financial year, backed by a 2.5 GW high-efficiency solar cell line that is currently under installation.
