REnergy Dynamics (RED) has announced a new initiative to provide complete engineering services for small compressed biogas (CBG) plants with capacities up to 3.5 tons per day (TPD). The service package, priced at ₹10 lakhs, is aimed at making high-quality design support more accessible to small-scale developers. The program was launched by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, during the Curtain Raiser event of the India Bioenergy & Tech Expo 2025.
According to data from the SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) portal, around 30% of CBG projects with capacities under 3.5 TPD have not yet begun construction. RED’s new program aims to support this segment by addressing key design and engineering barriers that often delay or prevent execution.
RED’s offering includes a full range of engineering deliverables such as basic design, critical equipment specifications, mass and heat balance calculations, mechanical and piping layouts, civil design for digesters, and electrical and instrumentation planning. These services will conform to standards like ASME, ANSI, API, and IS codes. While the approach will be standardized to control costs and speed up delivery, it will also allow for adjustments based on local conditions, including site layout, weather, building regulations, and infrastructure.
Kushagra Nandan, Chairman and Managing Director of RED, stated that the goal is to provide smaller developers with tools typically available only to larger players, helping them participate in India’s green energy development. Varun Karad, CEO of RED, noted that offering all services under one roof is expected to reduce setup times and support job creation at the local level.
This initiative contributes to India’s national target of establishing 5,000 CBG plants by 2030 under the SATAT scheme. It is especially intended to benefit rural and semi-urban areas, where decentralized energy production using local agricultural or organic waste can meet local energy demands despite limited access to broader distribution networks.
REnergy Dynamics is a renewable energy company focused on bioenergy development in India. Its activities include developing and operating large-scale projects, providing EPC services, managing feedstock supply chains, and manufacturing CBG plant components. The company has ongoing operations in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Haryana and aims to support local economies while contributing to India’s energy transition.
