Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India Private Limited, commonly referred to as Renault Nissan Tech, has officially launched an expansive new workspace in Chennai, which will allow for the addition of 2,000 new employees. This expansion is a crucial aspect of the company’s ongoing initiative to provide innovative mobility solutions on a global scale for both Renault and Nissan.
The new office, strategically located at the company’s headquarters in Ascendas IT Park within the Mahindra World City Special Economic Zone (SEZ), was inaugurated virtually by Thiru M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, during the Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2024.
The inauguration ceremony took place at The Leela Palace in Chennai and saw participation from several senior executives, including Akira Hanzawa, who serves as the Senior Vice President of Nissan Engineering & Costing, alongside Eva James, the Vice President of Global Service Delivery and Global Hub at Renault Nissan Tech.
Spanning an impressive area of 138,000 square feet, the newly designed workspace features a modern and open-plan layout that is specifically intended to enhance collaboration and productivity among team members. The facility is equipped with various meeting rooms and a work café, which are designed to facilitate both formal meetings and informal interactions, thereby fostering a more cohesive work environment.
Debashis Neogi, the Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech, emphasized the centre’s pivotal role in driving value creation for both Renault and Nissan. He highlighted the focus areas for the organization, which include simulation technologies, after-sales engineering processes, software validation, artificial intelligence applications, and cloud migration strategies.
Neogi also pointed out that a significant part of the company’s strategy revolves around attracting top-tier talent in the deep tech sectors, aligning with their ambition to become the leading automotive technology Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Global Capability Centre in India.
