BWT Alpine Formula One Team and Eni have announced a multi-year partnership, marking Eni’s return to the FIA Formula 1 World Championship as the team’s Official Energy and Fuel Partner. This collaboration signifies Eni’s comeback to an Enstone-affiliated team since its last involvement with Benetton in 2000. As part of the agreement, Eni will activate its Enilive brand at select races throughout the 24-race season, reinforcing its commitment to innovation in sustainable fuel technology.

Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, highlighted the collaborative nature of automotive advancements, stating, “The beauty of automotive is that it’s a team sport. When it comes to developing innovative solutions, nothing can beat the combined expertise and skills of great companies.” Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni, emphasized the significance of this partnership, noting that it combines the strengths of both companies to drive new developments in sustainable transportation. Additionally, the introduction of bio-gasoline testing through BWT Alpine Formula One Team aligns with F1’s pursuit of technological excellence in engine performance.

As a Premium Partner, Eni’s branding will be prominently displayed on the A525 race car, as well as on the race overalls and helmets of the team’s drivers, set to be revealed at the F175 Launch Event at the O2 Arena in London on February 18. The collaboration extends to the pit-stop crew and across the entire BWT Alpine Formula One Team ecosystem, focusing on the assessment and development of bio-gasoline and fuel innovations for motorsport.

Flavio Briatore, Executive Advisor at BWT Alpine Formula One Team, expressed his enthusiasm for Eni’s return, stating, “Eni has played an important role in our history and in Formula One as a whole. We share common goals in energy efficiency, sustainability, and bio-gasoline development, and we look forward to exciting collaborations both on and off the track.”

The BWT Alpine Formula One Team competes in the FIA Formula One World Championship with Grand Prix race winner Pierre Gasly and rookie Jack Doohan, led by Team Principal Oliver Oakes and Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore. Originally purchased by the Benetton Family in 1986, the team relocated to Enstone, Oxfordshire, in 1992, where it remains headquartered. Renault acquired the team in 2000, later rebranding it as Alpine F1, carrying forward a strong motorsport heritage.

With a legacy of success, Alpine F1 has claimed seven Formula One World Championships, securing the Drivers’ title in 1994, 1995, 2005, and 2006 with Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, and the Constructors’ title in 1995, 2005, and 2006. The team’s most recent victory was at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, marking its 50th overall win. Alpine concluded the 2024 season on a high note, achieving two podium finishes and securing sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
