Renault Group and Geely Holding Group have signed a framework agreement to enhance their strategic collaboration in Brazil, focusing on the production and sales of zero and low emission vehicles through Renault do Brasil. This agreement strengthens their ongoing partnership, with Geely Holding set to become a minority shareholder in Renault do Brasil, granting it access to localized production, sales, and service networks. The deal is subject to final agreements and regulatory approval.

As part of the collaboration, Renault Group’s Ayrton Senna Complex in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, which houses two advanced production facilities, will be utilized for manufacturing new vehicles for both Geely and Renault, alongside the existing Renault offerings.

On the sales front, Renault do Brasil will distribute Geely’s portfolio of zero and low emission vehicles in Brazil. This move allows Geely to tap into Renault’s commercial expertise and accelerate its business expansion in Brazil, which is the largest automotive market in South America.

Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, said, “Renault and Geely have built a strong foundation through successful ventures in Korea and powertrain technologies. This new partnership in Brazil will strengthen our industrial presence in Paraná and solidify the Renault brand’s position in this crucial market.”

Eric Li, Chairman of Geely Holding Group, commented, “Our cooperation with Renault reflects Geely’s commitment to partnering with global leaders in creating a more sustainable automotive industry. This partnership continues to evolve, from South Korea to global powertrains, and now to Brazil, generating value for customers worldwide.”

Daniel Li, CEO of Geely Holding Group, added, “In this rapidly changing automotive landscape, it’s vital to innovate and grow with trusted partners. We are committed to long-term, collaborative development as we expand our global presence.”
