Refex Sustainable Solutions Private Limited (RSSPL), a fully owned subsidiary of Refex Renewables & Infrastructure Limited, has recently secured a controlling 51.02 percent interest in Vyzag Bio-Energy Fuel Private Limited. This acquisition involves both the purchase of shares from the current promoters and a fresh equity injection, with a total investment amounting to approximately ₹2.9 crore.
At 2:20 pm, the shares of Refex Sustainable Solutions were trading at ₹610 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), reflecting a rise of ₹18.40 or 3.11 percent. Vyzag Bio-Energy Fuel operates a compressed bio-gas (CBG) facility located in Visakhapatnam, where it processes municipal solid waste to produce 850 kilograms of CBG each day.
The acquisition, which is anticipated to be finalized by September 30, represents Refex’s strategic move into the CBG sector. This transaction is a significant step in Refex’s broader strategy to expand its renewable energy investments and enhance its sustainability initiatives.
The existing CBG plant run by Vyzag Bio has a waste processing capacity of 30 tonnes per day (TPD). However, there are ambitious plans in place to scale up this capacity to 100 TPD. This expansion will not only increase the production of compressed bio-gas but also contribute significantly to reducing the carbon footprint, aligning with Refex’s commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.
