REnergy Dynamics (RED), a key player in India’s bioenergy space, has partnered with GMM Pfaudler, a global leader in process technologies and systems, to locally manufacture paddle agitators under the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Commercial production has begun at a modern facility in Gujarat, positioning the RED-GMM alliance among the first movers in India to deliver these critical components for compressed biogas (CBG) plants. These agitators are already in use at marquee projects, including Reliance Industries’ CBG plant executed by RED.
India’s CBG sector is projected to witness nearly 1,000 operational plants in the next three years, creating an estimated paddle agitator market worth ₹7,500 crore. This collaboration aims to reduce dependence on imports while enabling developers to access world-class technology at competitive costs, supporting India’s self-reliance in the CBG value chain.
Kushagra Nandan, Chairman & Managing Director of RED, said the partnership marks the company’s formal entry into manufacturing and marketing paddle agitators, a key requirement for the CBG ecosystem. Varun Karad, CEO of RED, added that this alliance will ensure high-quality, locally produced agitators, empowering CBG developers to scale up projects efficiently.
Aseem Joshi, CEO of GMM Pfaudler, highlighted that combining RED’s project expertise with GMM’s global mixing technology creates a robust platform for scalable, reliable solutions. Devang Bhojani, General Manager, GMM Pfaudler, emphasized that customised agitators will be crucial to meet the sector’s growing needs while improving cost efficiency.
GMM Pfaudler’s agitators are also deployed in bamboo-based 2G ethanol production at Assam Bio Refinery (Numaligarh Refinery Limited), showcasing their versatility in bioenergy applications. Through this partnership, RED reinforces its commitment to technology-led, affordable solutions that advance India’s renewable energy ambitions.
