Recyclekaro, a prominent player in e-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling, has announced a significant expansion of its operations, increasing its total recycling capacity to 24,000 tonnes annually at its advanced facility in Palghar, near Mumbai. This expansion boosts the company’s e-waste recycling capacity from 7,500 MT to 24,000 MT per year and its battery recycling capacity from 4,200 MT to 10,000 MT per year, underlining its commitment to advancing India’s green initiatives through sustainable solutions for e-waste, battery waste, and plastic recycling.

With India generating over 3.2 million tonnes of e-waste annually, and the growth of lithium-ion battery waste at a 30% CAGR, Recyclekaro’s expanded capacity will play a crucial role in addressing these challenges. This development is essential for reducing the environmental risks of improper battery disposal while recovering valuable materials for reuse. Recyclekaro maintains a zero-disposal policy, ensuring that all waste is either recycled or repurposed, in line with its mission to minimize landfill waste and foster a circular economy.

“As we scale up, we remain dedicated to pioneering innovative recycling solutions that will reshape the industry. By utilizing advanced technology and sustainable practices, Recyclekaro is driving India’s transition toward a circular economy. Our vision is to build a future where resources are infinitely reusable, contributing to a cleaner, greener planet,” said Rajesh Gupta, Founder & Director of Recyclekaro.

The Palghar facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, recovers essential metals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese with over 95% efficiency and 99.5% purity. These metals are vital for producing sustainable energy storage solutions. To date, Recyclekaro has successfully recycled 26,632 MT of e-waste and 8,432 MT of lithium-ion batteries, further reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability.
