The Real Madrid Foundation has entered into a strategic partnership with HP Inc. to promote digital literacy and sports for social good, with a focus on underserved communities. This collaboration was officially announced during a signing ceremony at Ciudad Real Madrid, with the aim of using technology and sports to prepare individuals for the future of work while empowering them to overcome challenges. This multi-year partnership is part of the global technology sponsorship agreement announced in February 2024 between HP and Real Madrid C.F.

“This collaboration showcases the global impact of our alliance,” said Álvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid ambassador and coach of the Juvenil A youth team. “By leveraging HP’s technology expertise, we can support vulnerable communities in Spain and Indonesia, helping them gain access to essential skills while promoting values like teamwork, effort, and resilience through sports.”

HP will contribute technology and digital solutions to the Real Madrid Foundation’s socio-sports programs in both Spain and Indonesia. This includes access to the HP Foundation’s free business skills platform, HP LIFE, which will support the foundation’s efforts to provide future-critical skills to underserved populations.

HP’s initial support will center around two key projects aimed at empowering communities through sports and education. In Spain, HP will collaborate with the Red Cross Madrid and the Real Madrid Foundation to support a sports-based program for homeless individuals at the Temporary Care Center in San Blas, Madrid. This initiative focuses on social reintegration by providing participants with digital tools, educational hardware, and workforce skills training through HP LIFE, helping them transition into employment and society.

In Indonesia, HP will support the Harapan Project, benefiting learners aged 9 to 17 across nine villages in the Hu’u district of Sumbawa. This initiative combines sports with educational support to improve the health and well-being of local youth. While the Real Madrid Foundation will lead the sports component, HP will provide digital tools and educational content, developed in collaboration with Girl Rising, to promote skill development and inclusivity. Through these efforts, HP aims to bridge the digital divide and create lasting social impact.

Michele Malejki, Global Head of Social Impact at HP, commented, “This partnership demonstrates the power of collaboration and teamwork. We are proud to partner with Real Madrid Foundation to close the digital divide and help young people and adults gain the critical skills necessary to thrive in the digital economy.”

Established in 1997, the Real Madrid Foundation channels the club’s social commitment by using sport as a tool for educational and social inclusion. With a presence in over 100 countries, the Foundation fosters the development of children and young people through values such as self-esteem, teamwork, respect, and health, with a vision to be a global leader in using sport for integration.
