Ramkrishna Forgings Expands Production Capacity by 14,250 MTPA

Ramkrishna Forgings has begun commercial production using its new NATIONAL 5 UPSETTER and DEFRIS 2% UPSETTER machines, adding 14,250 Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) to its production capacity. This expansion is designed to meet increasing demand from customers, enhancing the company’s total production capacity to 2,43,400 MTPA for hot and warm forgings and 25,000 MTPA for cold forgings.

The company’s investment in this expansion totals approximately ₹40.85 crore, funded through a combination of equity and debt, in line with its capital expenditure plans. The new equipment will focus on producing high-quality forged products, improving production efficiency, and strengthening the company’s position in both domestic and international markets.

An “upsetter” refers to a forging machine that uses pressure and force to shape and form metal. Ramkrishna Forgings’ shares opened at ₹781.95 on the BSE and rose by over 3% during the morning session, reaching an intraday high of ₹805.

For the third quarter ending December 31, 2024, the company reported a 14.6% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching ₹99.6 crore, up from ₹86.9 crore in the same period the previous year. Revenue from operations also grew by 7.9%, totaling ₹1,073.8 crore compared to ₹995.6 crore in the corresponding quarter of the prior year.
