Gruner Renewable Energy, a key player in the sustainable energy sector, has announced the appointment of Mr Rajesh Gupta as its Executive Vice President for Engineering, Quality Control, and Commissioning. With a career spanning 37 years in the Oil & Gas industry, Mr. Gupta brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to his new role.
An alumnus of NIT Surat (Civil Engineering) and the University of Roorkee (Transportation Engineering), Mr. Gupta has an impressive track record in designing, executing, and maintaining critical infrastructure projects. His professional journey began at Indian Oil Corporation Limited, where he rose to the rank of Executive Director (Constructions), spearheading projects across India, including underground petroleum pipelines, oil depots, LPG storage facilities, and crude oil terminals.
Post-retirement, Mr. Gupta transitioned into consultancy, focusing on civil and infrastructure projects. Since joining Gruner Renewable Energy in September 2023, he has been tasked with enhancing engineering efficiency, maintaining stringent quality standards, and ensuring timely project execution.
Gruner’s CEO, Mr Utkarsh Gupta, expressed confidence in the appointment, stating, “Mr. Gupta’s vast expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects will be instrumental in driving our renewable energy agenda forward. His leadership will help ensure the successful delivery of our initiatives, reinforcing our position as a leader in sustainable energy solutions.”
The announcement comes as Gruner Renewable Energy undertakes an ambitious expansion, securing contracts for 11 compressed biogas plants valued at ₹100 crores each. These facilities aim to produce 88,000 tons of compressed biogas annually, contributing significantly to India’s biofuel goals. The company plans to increase its workforce to over 5,000 by 2025, further solidifying its commitment to job creation and renewable energy innovation.
