RAINBOWCO (SZ002483), a global leader in high-end equipment manufacturing, today announced that all port container equipment produced at its Taicang facility will transition from the GENMA-KALMAR co-brand to the unified group brand GENMA. This strategic move strengthens GENMA’s global brand presence and signals a new stage in RAINBOWCO’s international growth in advanced equipment manufacturing.
Following this transition, RAINBOWCO’s product portfolio will focus on two core brands: GENMA and KOCH. RAINBOWCO’s journey in the port equipment sector has been marked by several significant milestones over the past two decades. The company began in 2004 with a strategic partnership with Cargotec, laying the foundation for a strong presence in the global port machinery industry. This collaboration paved the way for deeper engagements and technological advancements in the years to follow.
In 2012, RAINBOWCO took a major step forward by establishing a joint venture in Taicang to design, manufacture, and service Kalmar heavy port cranes under a dual-brand strategy, KALMAR and GENMA. The venture was later restructured in 2020 and renamed RIC, improving operational efficiency while focusing on localization to better serve regional and international markets. This transition allowed the company to strengthen its competitive edge and expand its capabilities.
The growth trajectory continued in 2022 when RIC secured global intellectual property rights for Kalmar heavy port cranes, introducing the co-branded GENMA-KALMAR line. By 2025, the company advanced its strategy further by consolidating branding under GENMA for all container port equipment. This strategic upgrade positions RAINBOWCO to drive its next phase of global expansion, leveraging a unified identity to capture greater opportunities in the international port equipment market.
Martin Wu, CEO of RAINBOWCO, commented “RAINBOWCO is committed to advancing the high-end equipment sector. The consolidation of our port equipment under GENMA is a major milestone in our global strategy. We will continue to expand our manufacturing footprint and strengthen localized service networks, delivering efficient and intelligent solutions for customers worldwide.”
Founded in 2003, RAINBOWCO operates five manufacturing bases worldwide with a workforce of more than 3,600 employees and reported revenue exceeding USD 1 billion in 2024. Its Taicang-based subsidiary, Jiangsu Rainbow Industrial Equipment Co, Ltd (RIC), is responsible for manufacturing container port equipment.
