RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a prominent telecom infrastructure provider, has been awarded a ₹46.79 crore contract by the North Western Railway for signaling work. The project, commissioned by the Deputy Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer (Construction) of the Ajmer Division, encompasses the design, supply, and execution of advanced signaling systems. RailTel confirmed the order in a regulatory filing, stating that the total value includes applicable taxes.
Earlier in January, RailTel also secured a ₹78.43 crore order from Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). This project involves implementing an integrated IT-based security infrastructure, alongside other essential services. RailTel received the work order, dated December 31, 2024, reinforcing its growing footprint in critical infrastructure projects.
Additionally, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) announced on December 30 that it was the lowest bidder for a Central Railway project valued at ₹137 crore. This initiative focuses on upgrading the 2×25 KV traction system in the Bhusaval-Khandwa section. The scope includes the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a 132/55 KV traction substation, sectioning posts, and sub-sectioning posts, employing Scott-connected transformers to support a target load of 3,000 MT.
