Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd, a prominent player in the high-voltage electrical equipment industry, has announced the opening of its cutting-edge Global Coil Factory in Kupwad MIDC, Sangli. This move aligns with the company’s strategic growth plans outlined in its recent Board meeting and quarterly earnings update. The inauguration marks a key milestone in Quality Power’s efforts to meet the rising global demand for high-voltage reactors and coil components used in HVDC, STATCOM, and FACTS systems.

The new factory is set to become one of the largest production facilities globally for air-core and oil-filled reactors. It will feature 44 advanced winding lines and a top-tier high-voltage testing laboratory. Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, the facility is being built to meet the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Platinum certification, establishing it as one of the most eco-friendly manufacturing hubs worldwide.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Bharanidharan Pandyan, Joint Managing Director, highlighted the factory’s importance in supporting critical grid modernization projects across multiple continents. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to completing the project ahead of schedule and to maintaining international standards of excellence.

“This expansion is not just about increasing scale; it’s a strategic step forward, shaped by years of customer feedback, audit insights, employee input, and market demand,” Mr Pandyan said in his keynote speech.

The project is being developed in collaboration with industry leaders like Arwade Infrastructure Ltd, Kirby Building Systems, and Electromech, ensuring smooth integration of civil, structural, and material handling systems. The machinery for the cable manufacturing segment, part of Quality Power’s reverse integration process, has already been ordered and is expected to be installed at an accelerated pace.

Nagesh Tilwani, Managing Director of Hyosung T&D India, delivered the chief address, praising Quality Power’s initiative to localize global manufacturing capabilities. The ceremony also saw a special CSR initiative, where SK Mishra, the company’s Independent Director, presented a cheque of INR 10 Lakhs to the Rotary Club, supporting a Mobile Eye Care Van for Diabetic Retinopathy Screening in rural Maharashtra. The event was attended by key company stakeholders, including board members, independent directors, investors, and strategic partners.
