Qlar has inaugurated a new Test Center in Bengaluru, India, aimed at advancing reliable pneumatic conveying solutions for industries such as metals, cement, and energy. The facility represents a significant addition to the company’s global capabilities and is the first of its kind in Asia to feature a 680-metre conveyor line, enabling full-scale testing for dense-phase conveying applications.
Spanning approximately 539 square metres, the Test Center has been designed to evaluate the handling characteristics of a wide range of bulk materials. These include ferrous and non-ferrous metals, cement, and fly ash, with plans to extend testing capabilities to performance materials and chemicals in the future. The facility allows for detailed measurement of key parameters such as particle size distribution, bulk density, flow behaviour, air consumption, pressure requirements, and energy usage under realistic operating conditions.
The new center is structured to move beyond theoretical analysis by enabling customers to test their materials in real-world scenarios. Following initial laboratory assessments, materials are subjected to full-scale conveying trials that simulate operational environments. This approach allows engineers to determine critical process parameters, including conveying velocity, air demand, throughput capacity, and pressure levels required for efficient transport.
The insights generated through these tests provide a strong technical foundation for designing and optimizing conveying systems. By offering data-driven clarity early in the project lifecycle, the facility helps reduce uncertainty, improve system reliability, and support better decision-making for industrial operators.
The Test Center also plays a strategic role in strengthening Qlar’s global service network. With increasing demand for reliable and efficient material handling solutions, particularly in high-intensity industrial applications, the facility enables customers across Asia to access advanced testing capabilities closer to their operations.
In addition to supporting customer projects, the center is expected to contribute to local skill development and job creation, particularly in mechanical and electrical engineering roles. It also reinforces a growing focus on improving energy efficiency in conveying processes by enabling optimization of air usage and overall system performance.
By combining practical testing infrastructure with engineering expertise, Qlar aims to help industries enhance productivity, reduce operational risks, and achieve more efficient material handling outcomes in increasingly demanding environments.
