Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Pure EV has announced plans to establish a new ₹400 crore manufacturing unit to increase its production capacity by an additional 3.5 lakh units in two phases. The company is currently engaging with state governments in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana to finalize the location for this facility.
At present, Pure EV has an annual production capacity of 50,000 units and sold approximately 12,800 vehicles in 2024. The company is targeting sales of 25,000 units in 2025, with a projection to surpass 50,000 units by 2026. Founder and Managing Director Nishanth Dongari revealed that 70% of the investment will come through equity fundraising, with the remaining amount sourced through debt.
Pure EV is focusing on expanding its presence in export markets like West Asia and Africa, with exports expected to make up 20% of total sales by 2028. In 2024, the company exported 2,000 units. Additionally, its dealership network, currently at 75 outlets, is set to grow to 320 by 2027 and reach 800 by 2029.
The company has launched the X Platform 3.0, an advanced iteration of its vehicle platform, powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence. This upgrade enhances performance, connectivity, and user convenience, introducing features like “Thrill Mode,” which boosts torque and performance by 25% for an exhilarating riding experience.
The platform incorporates Predictive AI, which learns rider habits, adapts to different conditions, and identifies potential issues proactively, ensuring maximum uptime. Cloud-based AI capabilities provide over-the-air software updates, keeping vehicles optimized for performance.
The X Platform 3.0 introduces a Next-Generation TFT Dashboard, compatible with iOS and Android devices, offering real-time navigation, battery health updates, and range estimates. Additional features include a smart vehicle control unit, regenerative braking, and a highly efficient powertrain.
Initially available in premium models like the ePluto 7G Max and eTryst X, the platform will be integrated across all models by the end of 2025, underscoring Pure EV’s commitment to sustainable and intelligent mobility solutions. Based in Hyderabad, PURE EV specializes in electric two-wheelers, offering a range of scooters and motorcycles designed for affordable and efficient urban transportation.
