In a major leap toward sustainable and precision-driven manufacturing, ProArc Welding & Cutting Systems Pvt Ltd hosted its Open House 2025 on July 11–12, 2025, at its state-of-the-art facility in Chakan, Pune. The two-day event served as the platform for the unveiling of two transformative technologies: India’s first hydrogen-powered oxyfuel cutting system and the Hypertherm XPR 460 plasma cutting system, marking a significant advancement in the country’s metal cutting landscape.

The highlight of the day was the live unveiling of India’s first hydrogen-powered oxyfuel cutting system, a breakthrough solution engineered for zero-emission metal cutting. The day commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by Ajit Nair (Managing Director), Kamlesh Thakur (Director), and Meeta Thakur (Director), setting an auspicious tone for the day’s high-impact technology launches.

During the Hydrogen Cutting Launch Ceremony, Ajit Nair, Managing Director of ProArc, shared his thoughts on the innovation’s potential. He said, “Hydrogen-powered oxyfuel cutting is a breakthrough that brings zero carbon emissions, reduced fumes, and flashback-proof operation, without compromising on performance.”

This system offers 7× faster piercing, cleaner cuts, and minimal slag formation, making it ideal for heavy fabrication environments where precision and safety are critical. The use of hydrogen as a clean fuel marks a significant move away from conventional fuel gases like acetylene or propane, aligning perfectly with India’s sustainability goals.

Dipak Bhise, Team Lead Manager & Product Manager at GCE India Pvt Ltd, followed with a deep technical overview, emphasizing its automated ignition, consistent flame profile, and enhanced operator safety. He noted the global momentum toward hydrogen and highlighted its advantages over traditional fuels in terms of both efficiency and ecological impact.

The second major unveiling was the official India launch of the XPR 460, Hypertherm’s most powerful plasma cutting system in its XPR series. The audience was given an in-depth understanding of the technology through a detailed presentation by Balamurali Srinivasan, OEM Sales Manager – India at Hypertherm Associates. The XPR 460 drew attention on how the XPR 460 integrates smart process control and operational intelligence, allowing fabricators to increase productivity while maintaining unmatched cut consistency.

The Open House witnessed participation from industry leaders, OEMs, and technology professionals, all eager to see how ProArc is shaping the future of cutting systems in India. The live demonstrations of both technologies received high praise for their efficiency, reliability, and eco-conscious design.

By combining innovation with sustainability, ProArc has set a new standard in metal cutting technology. These product introductions reflect its ongoing commitment to delivering high-performance, future-ready solutions for the evolving needs of Indian and global manufacturers
