Premier Explosives Ltd announced on Wednesday, July 16, that it has secured an export order valued at approximately $12.24 million (around ₹105 crore) for the production and supply of defence explosives to overseas clients. The order is scheduled for delivery over the next 12 months, the company stated in a regulatory filing.
This new contract adds to a growing list of international orders, including a previous export deal worth ₹21.45 crore secured earlier in March for similar defence-grade products. Premier Explosives continues to strengthen its position as a key supplier in the global defence segment.
The company offers one of the most extensive portfolios in the explosives industry, covering a diverse range of products and technologies. Its offerings include emulsion and slurry explosives, LD cartridge explosives, bulk explosives, small-diameter non-permitted and permitted explosives, cast boosters, secondary blasting pillow-packs, detonating fuse of various core loads, plain and electric detonators, delay detonators, cord relays, and non-electric shock-tube detonators under the Amardet brand.
Premier Explosives’ R&D capabilities are a core strength. The company’s research facility is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India, and also serves as an approved center for PhD research under Gulbarga University, Karnataka. Additionally, the laboratory is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), reinforcing its commitment to quality and innovation.
Expanding its technological edge into the defence domain, Premier Explosives entered the solid propellant segment in 2003. Today, it stands as the only private firm in India that manufactures and supplies solid propellants for major missile programs such as Akash, Astra, and LRSAM. The company also collaborates with premier institutes like IIT Madras for advanced research in high-energy materials.
