Premier Energies Ltd, a vertically integrated manufacturer of solar cells and modules, has entered into a joint venture (JV) agreement with Nuevosol Energy, a Hyderabad-based specialist in photovoltaic (PV) mounting structures. The objective of this partnership is the domestic manufacturing of aluminium frames and other high-value components essential to solar module production.

Under the terms of the agreement, Premier Energies will hold a majority ownership stake in the joint venture. The venture will establish a dedicated aluminium extrusion and anodizing facility with an annual capacity of 36,000 metric tonnes. The facility will be located in Seetharampuram, Telangana, and is scheduled to commence commercial operations in the fiscal year 2027. This infrastructure is intended to serve Premier Energies’ current and future manufacturing requirements.

According to Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies, “This initiative strengthens our control over the quality of critical module components, enhances supply chain resilience, and aligns with the objectives of the Make-in-India programme. The joint venture is strategically positioned to address the increasing demand for solar components and to contribute meaningfully to India’s renewable energy capacity expansion.”

Himamsu Popuri, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nuevosol Energy, stated, “This collaboration represents a significant milestone for Nuevosol as we partner with Premier Energies to advance domestic production of precision-engineered aluminium frames. The joint venture leverages our engineering proficiency alongside Premier’s manufacturing scale to enhance the solar value chain and decrease dependence on imported components.”

Premier Energies currently operates with a total manufacturing capacity of 11.1 GW, including 5.8 GW currently under development. The joint venture is positioned to play a critical role in supporting the company’s expansion and in strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
