Pradeep Metals Limited has announced strong financial performance for FY2025-26 and outlined plans for its largest expansion since inception, with an investment of up to ₹250 crore to establish a greenfield facility for large calibre ammunition at the Nagpur Defence Hub in Maharashtra. The company shared the details at its Annual General Meeting (AGM), highlighting its plans to enter the defence manufacturing sector while continuing to strengthen its established precision engineering business.

The proposed Nagpur facility will build on Pradeep Metals’ more than four decades of experience in precision forging, metallurgy and machining. Located within Maharashtra’s growing defence manufacturing ecosystem, the project is expected to provide the company with a new platform for long-term growth and enable it to participate in the expanding global defence manufacturing market.

Subject to customer qualification and other required approvals, commercial production at the facility is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of FY2026-27. The investment is also aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, supporting efforts to increase domestic defence manufacturing and develop India as a competitive global manufacturing base.

For FY2025-26, Pradeep Metals reported total income of ₹330.30 crore. The company recorded an EBITDA margin of 15.12%, while profit after tax stood at ₹25.32 crore. Earnings per share for the year were reported at ₹14.67. Strong export performance and a healthy balance sheet have supported the company’s decision to undertake the new investment.

Commenting on the company’s performance and expansion plans, Pradeep Goyal, Chairman and Managing Director, Pradeep Metals Limited, said, “Our strong financial performance, robust export growth and healthy balance sheet have given us the confidence to undertake the most significant expansion in the Company’s history. The Nagpur project marks our strategic entry into the manufacture of large calibre ammunition, a sector of growing strategic importance with strong long-term demand in domestic and international markets.”
