Pokarna anticipates a relatively subdued performance for its granite segment in the upcoming financial year. In contrast, the company is projecting a robust performance for its quartz segment, which constitutes nearly 97% of its sales. This segment is expected to experience significant growth, with forecasts indicating an increase of 30-35% in both revenue and profit.

As a result, the company expects overall revenue growth to fall within the range of 15-25% for the financial year, according to CEO Paras Kumar Jain. The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) are anticipated to maintain a healthy range of 30-35%.

For the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025, spanning from April to June 2024, Pokarna reported a revenue of ₹192 crore. During this period, the company achieved a margin of 31% and a profit after tax amounting to ₹33 crore.

In a bid to enhance its quartz product offerings, Pokarna is investing in cutting-edge technologies, specifically the KREOS and CHROMIA systems. These innovations are poised to introduce advanced designs and elevate the aesthetic quality of the company’s products.

The KREOS system, scheduled for commercialization by the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, is expected to enable Pokarna to produce more exotic and unique designs. This technological advancement is projected to drive an incremental product realisation increase of 10-15%.

Similarly, the CHROMIA system, set to be commercialised in the fiscal year ending in March 2026 (the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025), represents a high-tech digital printing solution designed to provide advanced printing capabilities for slabs. However, Jain anticipates that the full revenue impact from these systems will become evident in the subsequent financial year, with further research and development phases planned following their initial introduction.

Additionally, Pokarna is contemplating the divestment of its apparel business. While the company has yet to receive any satisfactory offers, efforts are underway to scale down this operation. “Given that it is a discontinuing operation, the expenses associated with it are minimal. We have managed to reduce the operational costs to a level where they do not impose a significant financial burden each month,” Jain noted.

Pokarna, based in Telangana, is a leading manufacturer of granite and quartz surfaces. Specializing in high-quality quartz products, which make up nearly 97% of its sales, the company is known for its innovation and cutting-edge technology. With a strong focus on growth and profitability, Pokarna is poised for significant expansion and technological advancement in the industry.
