Piramal Pharma Solutions (PPS), the contract development and manufacturing organisation of Piramal Pharma Limited, has unveiled a new payload-linker development and manufacturing suite at its Riverview facility in Michigan, strengthening its capabilities in the fast-growing antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) and bioconjugate therapy segment. The launch forms part of PPS’s previously announced US$90 million investment programme aimed at expanding manufacturing infrastructure and advanced pharmaceutical capabilities in the United States. Along with the Riverview expansion, the investment plan also includes technology upgrades and commercial-scale sterile injectable manufacturing enhancements at the company’s Lexington, Kentucky facility.
The newly launched suite has been designed to support payload-linker development and manufacturing for complex therapies such as antibody-drug conjugates, which are increasingly becoming important in targeted cancer treatment. Peter DeYoung described the launch as a major milestone that strengthens PPS’s integrated ADC development platform while enhancing its ability to support global pharmaceutical innovators with faster and more reliable manufacturing solutions.
He said the investment combines advanced technologies, specialised expertise, and commercial-scale capabilities within the United States, enabling customers to accelerate the development and production of complex therapies while improving supply chain reliability and operational efficiency.
The Riverview site brings more than six decades of experience in drug substance development and manufacturing. The facility specialises in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and highly potent active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs), making it a key manufacturing hub within PPS’s ADCelerate™ platform, the company’s integrated approach for accelerating phase I ADC development.
The payload-linker suite incorporates advanced containment systems, automation technologies, and analytical infrastructure to support scalable manufacturing programmes for ADCs and other bioconjugate therapies. PPS stated that the facility has been developed to meet growing global demand for targeted oncology therapies and next-generation pharmaceutical solutions.
The expansion is expected to help pharmaceutical innovators reduce development timelines while enabling a smoother transition from clinical-stage production to commercial manufacturing. The broader investment programme across Riverview and Lexington also reinforces PPS’s strategy of strengthening US-based pharmaceutical development and manufacturing operations focused on patient-centric and innovation-driven healthcare solutions.
