Power & Instrumentation (Gujarat) Limited (PIGL), a prominent company in electrical contracting and infrastructure development, has secured a contract worth ₹70.55 Crore (including GST) from Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited. The agreement covers supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment for expanding the distribution network to provide electricity to previously un-electrified households and public institutions across nine circles in tribal areas of Rajasthan. This work falls under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) as part of the RDSS scheme on a turnkey basis.

The project, valued at ₹70.55 crore (inclusive of GST), has been awarded for the development of distribution infrastructure to support on-grid electrification. The scope of work encompasses the supply, erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of all required systems and equipment to ensure reliable power delivery.

The implementation will span nine circles — Ajmer, Banswara, Bhilwara, Chhitorgarh, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Salumbar, Sikar, and Udaipur — with a particular focus on electrifying tribal villages within these regions. This targeted approach aims to enhance connectivity, promote socio-economic growth, and improve living standards through access to dependable electricity.

Scheduled for completion within 12 months, the project will be executed under the DA-JGUA scheme of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) initiated by the Government of India. The initiative aligns with the national objective of strengthening power distribution networks and expanding last-mile electrification across underserved areas.

This contract highlights PIGL’s strength in handling large-scale power distribution projects in complex environments, reinforcing its position as a key contributor to India’s rural electrification efforts. The addition of this order expands the company’s footprint within important national energy programs. PIGL remains committed to delivering quality results on schedule to sustain its growth trajectory.

Padmaraj Padmanabhan Pillai, Managing Director of PIGL, remarked, “This contract marks an important step in providing reliable electricity to underserved communities in Rajasthan’s tribal regions. Through our work under the DAJGUA and RDSS initiatives, we support India’s goal of inclusive progress. Our experience with challenging projects gives us confidence to complete this assignment efficiently and effectively, further strengthening our leadership in power infrastructure.”

PIGL has a track record of successfully completing technically complex projects across various regions, and this new order reflects the trust placed in the company by its clients. The project’s tight timelines and critical scope are well matched to the team’s capabilities and readiness.
