Pidilite Industries Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with South Korea-based Hwaseung Chemical to introduce advanced footwear adhesive technologies to the Indian market. The collaboration will bring adhesive systems used in international footwear manufacturing to Indian producers, supported by Pidilite’s local technical expertise and service network. The companies said the partnership is aimed at helping footwear manufacturers improve bonding performance, consistency and production efficiency.
The adhesive systems are designed for applications in high-volume footwear manufacturing and include technologies used in sports footwear production. The products are engineered to provide bonding strength, durability and flexibility while supporting consistent performance across manufacturing lines.

Chris Hyun, Vice-President, Hwaseung Group, said the partnership would combine Hwaseung Chemical’s adhesive formulations with Pidilite’s technical service capabilities to support Indian footwear manufacturers. The products introduced under the partnership comply with several international environmental and safety requirements, including REACH, SVHC, Proposition 65 and the U.S. Clean Air Act. They also align with ISO 14001 and RoHS requirements.
The adhesive formulations are designed as low-VOC and non-flammable products and are compatible with modern application methods. The companies said these characteristics can support safer workplace conditions and help manufacturers address environmental requirements.
The partnership comes as Indian footwear manufacturers expand their production capabilities and seek to meet specifications set by international brands. Access to established adhesive technologies can support manufacturers in maintaining consistent bonding performance across large-scale production. Pidilite will provide local technical support to customers using the adhesive systems, while Hwaseung Chemical will contribute its formulation and footwear application expertise.
