PG Electroplast Limited (PGEL), through its wholly owned subsidiary PG Technoplast Private Limited (PGTL), has acquired a 50-acre industrial land parcel in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. This acquisition marks the company’s first foray into South India and represents its largest land purchase to date.
PGEL plans to invest approximately ₹1,000 crore over the next five years to develop a fully integrated manufacturing campus on the site. The new facility will significantly expand PGEL’s national manufacturing footprint and is strategically positioned to tap into export markets through its proximity to Chennai Port.
The initial development phase will focus on a refrigerator manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of 1.2 million units. Commercial production is expected to commence by December 2026. The site layout also includes provisions for future expansion into other product lines, including air conditioners, washing machines, and consumer electronics.

The facility is expected to generate over 500 jobs in its first phase, contributing to local economic development and aligning with India’s broader goal of self-reliant manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The Sri City plant will also support PGEL’s role as a key manufacturing partner to India’s leading consumer electronics and home appliance brands.
