Peter Herweck, Chair of the Board, Pragmatic Semiconductor

Pragmatic Semiconductor Ltd has appointed Peter Herweck as Chair of its Board of Directors, effective immediately. He takes over from Erik Langaker, who steps down after five years in the role and will remain on the board until October 31, 2025, to support the leadership transition.

Mr Herweck brings over 40 years of global experience in technology, industrial automation, and advanced manufacturing. Most recently, he served as CEO of Schneider Electric SE, where he led the company through a strategic transformation focused on digitization, electrification, and sustainability—delivering strong growth.

Before that, Mr Herweck was CEO of AVEVA plc, a FTSE 100 industrial software company, where he oversaw a major shift to cloud-based services and led the acquisition of OSIsoft. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Siemens AG, including CEO of the Process Industries and Drives Division and Group Chief Strategy Officer, where he shaped the company’s digital and portfolio strategies. He is also a long-standing non-executive director at Teradyne Inc (NASDAQ: TER), a global leader in semiconductor testing and industrial automation. Throughout his career, Mr Herweck has lived and worked across Europe, Asia, and the United States.

The board thanked Mr Langaker for his leadership and contributions, which included guiding Pragmatic through significant milestones such as its Series C and landmark $231 million Series D funding round—the largest venture raise for a semiconductor firm in Europe. His tenure also saw the growth of Pragmatic’s manufacturing capabilities and the commercial rollout of its flexible integrated circuit (FlexIC) technology.

David Moore, CEO of Pragmatic Semiconductor, commented “We’re delighted to welcome Peter as Chair at such a pivotal time for the company. His deep expertise across global tech and manufacturing aligns with our ambition to scale FlexIC technology and support our customers’ innovation goals worldwide. I also want to sincerely thank Erik for his dedicated service and steady leadership during a time of major growth.”

Peter Herweck, newly appointed Chair, said “It’s a privilege to join Pragmatic’s Board and help guide the company as it expands its reach and impact. I look forward to supporting the team in delivering smart, scalable semiconductor solutions that bring intelligence to everyday items.”

Erik Langaker, outgoing Chair, added “It’s been an honour to be part of Pragmatic’s evolution—from early-stage innovation to delivering products at scale. I’m confident the company is in excellent hands with Peter as Chair, and I look forward to continuing to support the board during this transition.”

Pragmatic Semiconductor is scaling up flexible chip technology to bridge the digital and physical worlds more sustainably. The company designs and manufactures ultra-thin, bendable integrated circuits (FlexICs) that can add intelligence to everyday objects. Its products, platforms, and foundry services enable rapid development and deployment of cost-effective solutions for sensing, connectivity, and processing at the edge. Pragmatic’s approach supports faster innovation, supply chain resilience, and lower environmental impact.
