Philips Carbon Black Ltd (PCBL), a leading carbon black manufacturer, has been granted 116.62 acres of land by the Andhra Pradesh government for setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit for rubber black and value-added chemicals. The facility will be located at Naidupeta MPSEZ, subject to the de-notification of the SEZ and fulfillment of specific conditions outlined by the government.
The land has been allocated at ₹1,948 per square metre. PCBL plans to invest ₹3,718 crore in the project, which is expected to create 200 direct jobs. The proposal was approved during the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting on November 19, 2024, following a recommendation from the State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC).
The allocation comes with conditions requiring PCBL to meet investment and employment targets and adhere to project timelines set by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). This project marks a significant step in boosting industrial development and employment in the region.
