Paramount Communications Limited, a Delhi-based cable maker, is expanding its production capacity by launching a new manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh. The company has secured 31 acres in Narmadapuram Industrial Estate, Madhya Pradesh, allocated by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC).
Apart from land costs, the new factory will involve an investment of approximately Rs. 250 crore.
This facility will produce both Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) cables and is expected to start operations by the financial year 2027, with commercial production slated for December 2026.
In calendar year 2024, Paramount’s shipments to the United States reached USD 43 million, reflecting a 36% increase compared to the previous year. The company aims to raise the US export contribution to around 40% of its total revenue in the near future.
Management notes that the 25% tariff imposed by the Trump administration on imports from Mexico and Canada may give Paramount a competitive edge in the US market. Mexico and Canada are major suppliers of similar products, and the tariff could make Indian goods more price-competitive in the US.
Additionally, the US imports over half its raw aluminum from Canada. The tariff hike on aluminum imports could increase costs for US manufacturers, boosting Paramount’s position in aluminum-based cable products.
Paramount is targeting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30% in revenue over the next five years, aiming to surpass Rs. 5,000 crore by the financial year 2030. The new plant in Madhya Pradesh is expected to be a key driver of this growth.
Known within the industry as Paramount Cables, the company specializes in manufacturing a wide variety of wires and cables. Their product lineup includes Railway Cables, High and Low Voltage Power Cables, Fire Survival Cables, Instrumentation and Data Cables, Specialized Cables, Optical Fiber Cables, and Telecom Cables.
