Panasonic Life Solutions India’s Industrial Devices Division (INDD) has introduced a cutting-edge range of factory automation solutions, specifically designed to meet the evolving needs of Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The new suite includes the Network Function Integrated Type HL-G2 Series Laser Sensor, the GM1 Motion Controller, and the Minas A7 Servo Systems.
These components were showcased at the recent Automation Expo 2024 in Mumbai and are engineered to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and productivity in modern industrial environments. Commenting on the launch, Narayan Kumar, Divisional Director of INDD at Panasonic Life Solutions India, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering Indian manufacturers with innovative automation technologies.
He stated, “Our goal is to help reduce downtime and boost efficiency for our customers by offering advanced automation solutions. By integrating our state-of-the-art devices, such as the HL-G2 Series, GM1 Motion Controller, and AI-driven MINAS A7 Servo Systems, we can significantly improve product quality, production efficiency, and overall operational performance.”
The HL-G2 Series Laser Sensors offer unparalleled accuracy, with precision up to 0.5 µm and measurement speeds of up to 10,000 times per second. These sensors are versatile, with a range of 20 mm to 1,000 mm, making them suitable for a variety of industrial tasks. Their compact and durable design allows for easy integration into different industrial setups, even in challenging environments. Applications include precision measurements in quality control, real-time monitoring in automated systems, and use in robotic and medical fields where non-contact measurement is crucial.
Key Features of the New Automation Suite
The GM1 Motion Controller supports RTEX/EtherCAT communication and provides synchronized torque control for up to 32 axes. This compact, all-in-one solution integrates multiple functions, including positioning, network modules, I/O modules, and a high-frequency counter, reducing cabinet space and ensuring rapid response times as low as 0.5ms. The GM1 is equipped with Application Function Blocks for easy setup, minimizing programming time. It also supports Industry 4.0 integration with OPC UA client and server functions, making it ideal for high-precision applications like press-fitting, molding, printing, and packaging.
The MINAS A7 Servo Systems, equipped with AI-driven tuning technology, automate precise adjustments that traditionally required expert intervention. The MINAS A7’s AI-based automated tuning, known as precAIse TUNING, offers ultra-precise positioning accuracy and can reduce operation time by up to 90% compared to manual methods. The recently launched MINAS CZ1 Global and MINAS A6SC series motors in the Indian market further enhance the productivity of machines, personnel, and applications by quickly and intuitively adapting to various operational demands.
Comprehensive Automation Solutions
At the Automation Expo 2024, the Industrial Devices Division also showcased a wide array of automation devices and components, including sensors, servo motors, trolley ducts, PLC solutions, and laser markers. These offerings are designed to support the digital transformation of enterprises and contribute to the larger Make-in-India initiative by advancing the nation’s manufacturing capabilities.
