Optiemus Unmanned Systems, the drone division of Optiemus Infracom, has teamed up with Germany’s LS Spectrum Solutions to introduce and distribute drone-based spectrum analyser technologies in India. The collaboration, announced on Thursday, aims to enhance the detection and management of communication frequencies, with a focus on identifying unauthorized cellular activity, such as illegal communications from prisons.
The drone-based spectrum analysers will enable efficient monitoring of spectrum usage, offering enhanced management and oversight of communication frequencies across India. This partnership is particularly focused on tackling the issue of illicit communication networks operating from correctional facilities.
Prasad Kerkar, Director of LS Spectrum Solutions, stated, “This Memorandum of Understanding marks a significant step for us as we bring advanced drone-based spectrum analysis technologies to India. Through this collaboration, we aim to address the growing challenge of unauthorized cellular activity, including illegal communications originating from prisons.”
The collaboration is not limited to spectrum monitoring solutions. The partnership also has the potential to expand into broader spectrum management technologies, such as spectrum surveillance, direction finding, geolocation, electronic support measures, signals intelligence, and countermeasures, the statement added.
