Omega Seiki Mobility is collaborating with Bangalore-based Log 9 Materials to launch rapid charging batteries technology in its Rage+ electric three-wheelers. Talking about the development Managing Director of Omega Seiki Mobility Dr. Deb Mukherji announced, "soon our vehicles RAGE+ and FROST will be powered by Log9 batteries''.
“Graphene is a miraculous material that has amazing capabilities to combine with other materials and can do wonders for the industry”, commented Dr. Mukherji. Consisting of a single carbon atom layer, Graphene is a truly versatile material. It has amazing capabilities to combine with other materials as well as a superconductor too. It is incredibly strong, around 200 times stronger than steel. Bengaluru-based nanotechnology startup Log9 Materials have packaged graphene into electric vehicle battery.

Deb Mukherjee said, "Log9 is an extraordinary startup by the IIT engineers team of Kartik and Akshay. They are working on using packaged graphene into automotive EV Batteries." He added further that this battery will solve the long duration issue of electrification-charging and increase the power capacity of the battery. The battery pack of 7 kWH by Log9 Materials is having an excellent life of 15000 cycles and can be charged within 30 minutes.
“We are a technology company, and we do everything from the factory to fleet, and our 3W EVs RAGE+ and FROST will be soon powered by Log9 batteries”, added Dr. Mukherji. Omega Seiki Mobility is part of the Anglian Omega Network. It is a technology-powered company that is working on manufacturing cold-forming parts for the automotive & rail industries in India along with international countries.
Dr. Mukherji said that the usual normal Li-Ion batteries take 3-4 hours to get charged but this new battery tech will take hardly 30-35 minutes to charge fully and the batteries have around 15,000 cycles charging capacity with a 15-year warranty. It will be able to run for 18-20 hr per day and deliver a range of around 65-100km.

Commenting about the development Akshay Singhal, Founder of Log9 Materials said that India needs EV batteries that are built on understanding local conditions. Log9 Materials was successful in developing the graphene battery pack following the requirement of Indian conditions. Log9 is a startup company working on nanotechnology. Founded by Akshay V Singhal and Kartik Hajela the company focuses on green renewable energy and filtration applications of Graphene. Log9 material products are Aluminum fuel cells, LOS (Log9 Sorbent), Graphene Composite Filtration Media, and PPuF (Post-Purification Filter).
Dr. Mukherji said that this collaboration can change the pattern for the Indian EV industry. He added, “We are excited about working with our allies to deliver the best technology via our products in the market."
