Ola Electric Mobility Limited has announced the launch of its latest electric scooter, the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh, powered by the company’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell. With this introduction, Ola Electric aims to bring advanced battery technology to the mass market, making long-range, high-performance electric scooters more accessible to Indian consumers.

Priced at an introductory ₹1,29,999 until April 15, the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh represents a key milestone in the company’s efforts to accelerate electric vehicle adoption across the country. The launch highlights Ola Electric’s strong focus on vertical integration, spanning battery cell innovation, battery pack engineering, and end-to-end vehicle manufacturing, enabling faster deployment of advanced technologies at scale.

The S1 X+ 5.2 kWh combines performance, range, and practicality, catering to both urban commuters and long-distance riders. It is powered by an 11 kW mid-drive motor with an integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU), delivering an impressive range of up to 320 km (IDC) and a top speed of 125 km/h. The scooter is also equipped with advanced features such as Brake-by-Wire technology and front disc brakes, ensuring enhanced safety, precision, and riding control.

According to an Ola Electric spokesperson, the introduction of the 4680 Bharat Cell into a mass-market offering demonstrates the company’s ability to scale innovation efficiently. The spokesperson emphasized that the same technology platform used in premium products is now being extended to a broader audience, enabling more consumers to access cutting-edge EV solutions.

Ola Electric’s current portfolio includes a wide range of Gen 3 S1 scooters and Roadster motorcycles, catering to diverse customer segments. The premium lineup features S1 Pro+ and S1 Pro variants, while the S1 X series addresses the mass market with multiple battery configurations. The Roadster series further expands the company’s footprint in the electric motorcycle segment.
