Odisha-based startup Bon V Aero has introduced Air Orca, a fully autonomous logistics drone designed and manufactured in India to transform the country’s logistics and emergency response landscape. Venture capitalist Tim Draper joined the launch, highlighting the drone’s potential to revolutionize logistics with increased flexibility and reach.

“Launching Air Orca is a significant step forward for India’s logistics sector and a proud moment for us as an Odisha-based company,” said Satyabrata Sathapathy, CEO of Bon V Aero. “Creating this drone domestically has allowed us to customize it for India’s needs. Tim Draper’s support strengthens our efforts to bring Air Orca’s benefits to both civilian and defense sectors across India.”

Draper noted, “Seeing Air Orca debut in Odisha is inspiring. Autonomous drones like this can enhance modern logistics by extending reach and dependability. From disaster response to high-altitude defense missions, Air Orca has far-reaching applications.”

Built entirely in India, Air Orca is engineered to handle a wide range of logistical tasks, particularly in areas where traditional transport falls short. The drone is capable of acting as a first responder post-disaster, delivering essential supplies to remote or hard-hit areas. Bon V Aero set a record by using Air Orca to carry a 30 kg payload at Umling La in Ladakh, the world’s highest motorable road, outperforming helicopters that struggle at such altitudes.

With applications across healthcare, e-commerce, military logistics, and disaster management, Air Orca aims to address diverse logistical needs on a global scale. Bon V Aero, an innovative startup based in Odisha, India, is making strides in the field of autonomous drone technology, particularly for logistics and emergency response.

With a strong focus on developing drones designed to tackle India’s unique logistical challenges, the company launched its flagship product, the Air Orca—an advanced autonomous logistics drone entirely designed and manufactured in India.

Bon V Aero is pioneering efforts to make aerial logistics viable in regions where conventional transportation struggles, including high-altitude and disaster-prone areas. Setting a record by carrying a 30 kg payload at Umling La, the highest motorable pass, Bon V Aero has demonstrated the potential of its technology to outperform traditional methods, such as helicopters, in difficult terrains. With applications across healthcare, e-commerce, military, and disaster response, Bon V Aero is positioned to reshape how essential goods are transported in India and beyond.
