Electric motorcycle maker Oben Electric has raised ₹100 crore in its Series A round, completing the funding in two phases. The company initially closed ₹50 crore in January 2025, followed by an additional ₹50 crore in May, pushing its total Series A raise to ₹200 crore.
The latest infusion saw continued interest from existing backers, along with fresh participation from Helios Holdings, the Sharda family office, and the Kay family. Proceeds from this round will support Oben Electric’s scale-up plans, including growing its retail footprint to over 150 locations in 50 cities by the 2026 financial year.
A portion of the capital will also be allocated to developing the upcoming O100 platform—a motorcycle model designed to be priced below ₹1 lakh—and boosting output at its manufacturing facility in Jigani, Bengaluru. Following the first round of Series A funding, Oben has already opened 37 retail outlets in 26 cities across 13 states, including Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha.
“This fresh round of funding reflects investor belief in our direction and helps accelerate both our growth in new markets and the rollout of next-generation products,” said Madhumita Agrawal, Co-founder and CEO.
Oben Electric manufactures both motorcycles and their key components, including batteries, motors, control systems, and home chargers, under one roof. The company’s Bengaluru plant is built for an annual production capacity of 100,000 units and is supported by a vendor network of over 150 suppliers.
The current offering from the company, the Oben Rorr EZ, is priced at ₹99,999 and features a 0-40 km/h acceleration time of 3.3 seconds, a top speed of 95 km/h, and a range of up to 175 km per charge. The bike runs on LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery technology, which Oben claims as a first in India’s electric two-wheeler category.
Founded in August 2020, the Bengaluru-headquartered startup holds more than 25 patents tied to its EV technology. The founding team brings over two decades of combined experience in electric mobility and product engineering.
Looking ahead, Oben Electric is preparing for a Series B fundraising round targeted at $30 million to support overseas market entry and enhance production capabilities. The company aims to strengthen its early-mover advantage in India’s growing electric motorcycle segment, part of the world’s largest motorcycle market.
