Nupur Recyclers Limited (NSE: NRL), a major player in the recycling and processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metal scraps, has released its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ending September 30, 2024. The results highlight significant improvements in profitability and operating margins, reflecting the company’s effective strategies and operational improvements.
In Q2 FY25, despite a 30.30% year-on-year decrease in total income to ₹5,349.16 lakhs from ₹7,674.48 lakhs in Q2 FY24, NRL saw substantial growth in profitability. Operating EBITDA surged by 156.61% YoY to ₹589.84 lakhs, with the EBITDA margin rising to 15.35%, a remarkable increase of 1,031 basis points.
Profit After Tax (PAT) nearly doubled, increasing by 96.90% to ₹475.82 lakhs, up from ₹241.66 lakhs in the previous year. The PAT margin improved by 575 basis points, reaching 8.90%. These results demonstrate the company’s ability to drive profitability despite revenue fluctuations.
The company’s operational efficiency was highlighted by a rise in operating EBITDA margins from 3.00% in Q2 FY24 to 11.03%, and PAT margins nearly tripling from 3.15% to 8.90%. These improvements reflect NRL’s focus on enhancing operational performance.
In addition to its strong financial results, NRL has outlined ambitious plans for expansion. The company is set to venture into new areas including metal scrap processing, aluminum extrusion, and lithium-ion battery recycling. A new, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to these operations is planned to be operational by 2027, capitalizing on the growing demand for sustainable industrial solutions, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.
