NTPC Renewable Energy Commences 110 MW Solar Power Supply from Two Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of state-owned NTPC, has commenced commercial supply of 110 MW electricity from two solar projects in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. This development brings NTPC Group’s total installed and operational capacity to 76,708.18 MW, according to a regulatory filing.

As per a certificate issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on January 9, 2025, 60 MW from the Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, has been declared operational from January 7, 2025. The first phase of this project, with a capacity of 160 MW, began commercial operations on August 28, 2024.

Additionally, 50 MW from the Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh became operational on January 10, 2025. The first phase of this project, also with a capacity of 50 MW, commenced operations on September 30, 2024.

These milestones underline NTPC’s progress in expanding its renewable energy portfolio and supporting India’s clean energy transition.
